What sample is required?
The determination is made from a recent stool sample duly preserved and delivered to the laboratory within a period not exceeding 4 hours from its collection; sometimes several samples are collected on different days.
Is some kind of prior preparation necessary?
For this test you do not need any special preparation.
Why do the analysis?
To know if you have a parasitic infection of the gastrointestinal tract.
When to do the analysis?
In diarrhea lasting several days and/or if feces with blood and/or mucus are excreted, especially if non-potable or non-purified water has been drunk -for example, while camping- or has traveled to underdeveloped countries. It is also recommended as an annual control in the case of children under 15 years of age.
