The determination is made from a venous blood sample.

Is some kind of prior preparation necessary?

For this test you do not need any special preparation.

Why do the analysis?

To assess the state of the immune system; to detect and monitor an excess or deficiency of one or more types of immunoglobulins (usually IgA, IgG, IgM and IgE).

When to do the analysis?

When recurrent infections and/or chronic diarrhea occur; when the doctor suspects an immunoglobulin deficiency; periodically in monitoring disorders that affect immunoglobulin levels, whether genetic or acquired (HIV, AIDS, multiple myeloma).
