What sample is required?

The determination is made from a venous blood sample.

Is some kind of prior preparation necessary?

For this test you do not need any special preparation.

Why do the analysis?

To detect Toxoplasma gondii infection in pregnant women, newborns, or immunocompromised individuals presenting with flu-like symptoms suggestive of Toxoplasma gondii infection; sometimes to detect a past infection or to find out if complications are due to a Toxoplasma infection.

When to do the analysis?

When a pregnant or immunocompromised person has been exposed to T. gondii and/or has flu-like symptoms, a severe eye or brain infection that can be attributed to toxoplasmosis.
